Hungary
Kékes peak
What a wonderful, sunny morning! Although, I've been looking at this landscape for a while, I can't get enough of it. More than 13 million years have already passed since then, with all kinds of volcanic activity and tectonic plate movements. I was very happy when it ended because it was a crazy stressful time, but Mátra was finally created and I stood out as its highest peak. Oh, I just realized I forgot to introduce myself. I am Kékes, Hungary's highest mountain, with 1014 or 1015 meters, depending on whether you measure my height above sea level to the Baltic Sea or Adriatic Sea. To be honest, I don't give too much for this one meter. I've seen so many things that such nonsense can no longer excite me. Especially the last hundred years have been exciting. I had a lot of guests, the so-called hikers. Because of them, a lookout tower was built on top of me, and then an antenna tower in 1958. Although I don't know if it was also because of them. Surprisingly, the number of visitors doesn't stop even in winter, that's when the skiers come. It's really exciting to watch them. What I am extremely proud of is that, because of my clean air, a spa has even been placed on me. And a red-white-green (because of the Hungarian flag) colour stone from the late 1950s, which lets everyone know my height. As I said, I'm not so excited about it, but others certainly are, because in 1987 the top stone got a new pedestal. If you don't believe that I have such a stone, climb to the top and you will see.
