Aggtelek stalactite cave

I love these quiet evening moments when I wake up and the other bats are still sleeping, and then I can quietly look around the cave. Many other bats are jealous of us because we live in the Aggtelek stalactite caves. It's such a cool address, it really is, but that's not why we live here. It’s because our parents, grandparents, and even their parents have lived here for generations. It was a very quiet place for a long time, but recently a lot of people have been visiting because there are not many stalactite caves like this in the world. Particularly not one with so many different coloured stalactites. People actually did live here 7,000 years ago, and then it went quiet for a long time. Then in 1742, an article about the caves was published, and after that ever more people came. Even Sándor Petőfi, the Hungarian poet, came here and carved his name into the wall of the cave in 1845, which is definitely vandalism – famous poet or not. People don't really bother us anyway. We are up at night and they come during the day when we are fast asleep, but sometimes they can be noisy. However, I have to admit that I wouldn't know half as much about the cave were it not for them, or rather without the tour guide who always accompanies them. Well, enough of my musing, the others are waking up. It's time to look at the night sky and find something for breakfast.
