Wolin National Park is a unique place that offers many attractions for all nature lovers. It is located in the West Pomeranian province on the picturesque island of Wolin. The area of the park is huge, amounting to almost 11 hectares, making it one of the largest national parks in Poland. It is the first marine park in Poland. It was designated to protect primarily coastal forests and beautiful sandy cliffs. The special qualities of Wolinsky Park are its amazing landscape, high cliffs and moraine hills. The area of Wolin National Park is occupied by aquatic ecosystems (42.8 percent), forest ecosystems (42.5 percent) and non-forest aquatic ecosystems (14.7 percent). The terrestrial part of the park is dominated by beech, beech-oak and pine forests. The dominant tree is pine. Beech and oak also have a large share. In addition, there are spruce, larch, Douglas fir and birch trees. The park's logo proudly features a white-tailed eagle and this is no coincidence. Wolin Island, where the park is located, is a bird flyway along the Baltic Sea. The park is home to more than 230 species of birds, including the aforementioned white-tailed eagle or little flycatcher. The largest Polish beetle, the stag beetle, and the butterfly, the queen scarlet, also live here.
