Marie Skłodowska-Curie

Marie Sklodowska-Curie scientist of experimental physics and physical chemistry, double Nobel laureate - winner of the Nobel Prize in physics (1903) and chemistry (1911). She was born on November 7, 1867 in Warsaw, in the Kingdom of Poland, then part of the Russian Empire. She died on July 4, 1934 in Passy, France. She is known today for her discovery of two elements, radium and polonium, and her ground breaking research on radioactivity. Thanks to her researches, X-ray studies were popularized in the early 20th century. In many aspects of life and science, she was the first woman to break stereotypes about women.
