High Tatras

We hold the title of the highest mountain range in Slovakia and Poland. At the same time, we are the only mountain in these states with an Alpine character. We have an area of 341 km², 260 km² in Slovakia and 81 km² in Poland. Our highest point is Gerlachovský štít with a height of 2655 m above sea level. We present the most attractive tourist territory of Slovakia. In the High Tatras you can find 26 peaks exceeding 2500m. 10 peaks with a height above 2000 m above sea level is accessible to tourists in the Slovak High Tatras. If you would also like to climb one of them, you can do so along the marked paths. You can also climb peaks that are not freely accessible to tourists, but only accompanied by a mountain guide. There are also valleys, waterfalls, caves, glacial lakes and marshesa, and Several mineral springs in the mountains. We have all belonged to the Tatra National Park since 1948. The purpose of declaring the park was to protect our flora and fauna, the distinctive high mountain profile and glacial relief.
