Errant Rocks

Errant Rocks is a rock labyrinth that attracts many tourists and is located in the Stołowe Mountains in Poland. It is one of the greatest attractions of these mountains, also called the rock city, due to the narrow, high corridors and spectacular rock formations between which the route runs. Interestingly, the beauty of this area was appreciated by the director of the film "The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian", Andrew Adamson himself. Shots from Errant Rocks were used to build the scenery in the film. This area is located almost directly on the Polish-Czech border, in the south-western part of the country, in the Central Sudetes. The labyrinth belongs to the Stołowe Mountains National Park. Errant Rocks are also often called Wolf Pits (Wilcze Löcher) or Wild Wholes, by the Czechs they are called Bor. A walk between these huge, unusually shaped rocks, separated by narrow corridors, provides many impressions. The passages between the rocks are sometimes very tight, even several dozen centimetres wide. On the route you can meet various rock formations, such as mushrooms, cudgels, pillars and rock ledges that give the impression that they are about to collapse. Errant Rocks were formed thousands of years ago as a result of erosion and weathering of the sandstones that make up the rocks. The less resilient rock material was eroded by wind, water and heat into fanciful shapes. This process continues to this day.
