I’ve lost track of how long this actor has been picking away at me. I thought about having a go back at him, but then I decided to leave it. He must be under a lot of pressure. First of all, he has to portray one of the greatest characters in Hungarian literature, Sindbad. And he wasn’t even the one they originally wanted for the role, that was a famous Italian actor, Vittorio de Sica. But De Sica was too expensive, so they settled for him, Zoltán Latinovits. I never aspired to be in the entertainment industry myself, because it never occurred to me that such an opportunity would ever open up to someone with bone marrow like mine. And there you have it, here I am, sitting on a plate in the middle of a movie shoot, steaming away. Everyone is talking about this Sindbad, who, based on what I've heard, must have been a really interesting character. It turns out that Sindbad was created by a writer named Gyula Krúdy at the beginning of the 20th century. Krúdy must have liked his character very much, because he wrote five books about him, but while the original Sindbad travelled the seas, his Sindbad liked to pass the time at restaurant tables with a variety of women. This is where I come into the picture, because our Sinbad was particularly fond of boiled marrow bone. Ah, now we could really start this whole thing over, because I don't think the main character was daydreaming about stone-cold marrow bone... And what about the deadline? Zoltán Huszárik, who is directing the film, said that he wanted to present the film in 1971. Sounds good, but then we’d better crack on!
