Lokše
In the past, simple meals were the typical dishes of the poorer population. Everyone who had a garden had potatoes and flour. My production is quite simple. Boiled potatoes are grated and mixed with flour and salt. The dough is made, rolled into thin patties, which are baked dry on a hot plate. After they bake me, they smear me with fat. Preferably duck or goose. They can eat me with soup or fill me with sauerkraut or meat. The village of Slovenský Grob is especially famous for its goose lokše. In Moravia, they prepare me sweet. They spread me with jam, roll me up like pancakes and sprinkle with poppy seeds and sugar.
